Pregnancy is a transformative journey, and proper body alignment plays a crucial role in ensuring a more comfortable experience, a smoother labor and delivery, and a quicker recovery postpartum. When the body is properly aligned, it functions optimally, reducing unnecessary strain and discomfort. This program is designed to help mothers trust their bodies and their ability to birth in the way they choose, fostering confidence and empowerment throughout the journey.

Alignment During Pregnancy

As the baby grows, the body undergoes significant changes that can lead to poor posture and misalignment, causing discomfort and pain. Proper alignment:

  • Reduces lower back and pelvic pain

  • Supports the baby’s optimal positioning for birth.

  • Improves circulation and nerve function, reducing swelling and discomfort.

  • Enhances breathing by keeping the ribcage open and allowing the diaphragm to work efficiently.

  • Builds trust in the body’s ability to support pregnancy and prepare for birth.

Alignment for an Easier and Faster Birth

Maintaining proper posture and alignment throughout pregnancy can significantly impact labor and delivery. When the pelvis and body are well-aligned:

  • The baby has more space to descend into the birth canal properly, reducing complications.

  • Contractions become more effective, potentially shortening labor duration.

  • Pelvic floor muscles function better, aiding in a smoother birth process.

  • The risk of interventions, such as C-sections or forceps deliveries, may be reduced.

  • Reduces fear of birth and pain, replacing it with confidence in the body’s natural ability.

Postpartum Recovery and Alignment

After birth, the body undergoes a healing process that can be supported through proper alignment:

  • Helps restore core and pelvic floor function, reducing postpartum discomfort.

  • Supports the healing of diastasis recti (abdominal separation)

  • Eases lower back and hip pain often caused by nursing and carrying the baby.

  • Encourages a quicker return to strength and mobility.

  • Allows moms to move through postpartum with less pain and more ease.

Solving Common Pregnancy & Birth Challenges

The Body Ready Method directly addresses common problems faced during pregnancy and birth, including:

  • Pain and discomfort caused by misalignment.

  • Difficulties during labor due to poor fetal positioning and extended labor durations due to misalignment.

  • Fear and uncertainty surrounding birth, replacing it with trust in the body’s natural process.

  • Postpartum pain and misalignment issues that hinder recovery.

By prioritizing proper alignment, mothers can experience a more comfortable pregnancy, an easier birth, and a smoother recovery, allowing them to focus on enjoying this special time with their baby—pain-free, confident, and empowered.

The Body Ready Method is based on 5 pillars:  Upper Body Mobility, Core, Pelvis, Pelvic Floor, and Movement Patterns.  Incorporating these pillars into your movement during pregnancy can help you:

 - have a more efficient birth

- minimize pregnancy aches and pains

- optimize postpartum recovery

- minimize unnecessary abdominal separation and pelvic floor dysfunction

- optimize pelvic floor responsiveness

- work smarter not harder!

Session 1

Assessment & Education

Our first session is about getting to know each other.  Tell me about your vision of your birth, about your fears and concerns, and we can talk about what you need to do to achieve your vision.    I will  assess your body alignment to determine your individual needs for alignment and mobility and create a map of the journey going forward.

Session 4

Pelvis

Some of the most common complaints of pregnancy is hip pain, SI joint pain, pubis symphysis pain, and just pain in general "down there."  Balancing the pelvis can not only relieve these pains but allows space for baby to get into the best position for birth and allows for a smooth birth process.

Session 2

Upper Body Mobility

Restrictions in your upper body can affect baby's positioning, pelvic floor function, breathing, nervous system regulation, not to mention acid reflux and heartburn.  Bringing the upper body into balance is the first step in achieving the desired goal.

Session 5

Pelvic Floor

Tight pelvic floor? Weak pelvic floor?  peeing when you cough, sneeze, or jump?  Did you also know that pushing for longer than 2 hours is a sign of pelvic floor dysfunction?  Holding up the load of a baby, allowing baby to come through during birth, and everyday functioning (ie no incontinence) are reasons to have a balanced pelvic floor

Session 3

Core

The core is an integral part of the body.  The diaphragm and the pelvic floor are dependent on the core functioning properly.  When the 3 are balanced the body can carry pregnancy strongly, birth with ease, and recover smoothly postpartum.  But when there is core dysfunction the whole body can suffer.

Session 6

Postpartum Recovery

Recovery from birth, sleep deprivation, caring for baby, feeding issues, mental health, c-section, bleeding, tearing - all and more may be a part of your postpartum recovery.  BRM can guide you on your journey to healing.

Optional Add On Session
Pain in Pregnancy
Optional Add On Session

Optional Add On Session
Progress in Birth & Special Topics

Round ligament pain, Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction, and Sacroiliac Joint Pain will be addressed.  These are not covered in previous sessions as not everyone deals with them.

Learn the cardinal movements of labor, the labor flow state, and the pushing phase.  Learn what is going on physically in your body and tools to work with your body and labor.

Learn what to expect and what are the signs of labor progress.  Learn the 3 levels of the pelvis baby will be moving through and what positions support each level.  Special Topics include:  prodromol labor, labor dystocia (stall), precipitous birth (fast), pushing delays, back labor, VBAC, epidural support, cesarean support, perineal tearing

$300 for sessions 1-6,  optional add on sessions $50 per session extra

Each session will be approximately 30-60 minutes and will include assessment per focus area and movements taught.
